• Christianity is a monotheistic religion centered on the life and teachings
of Jesus of Nazareth as presented in the New Testament. As of the early 21st century, it has between 1.5 billion and 2.1
billion adherents, representing about a quarter of the world's population. It is the state religion of at least sixteen countries.
Its followers, known as Christians, believe that Jesus is
the Son of God and the Messiah (or Christ) prophesied in the Old Testament, the part of
their scriptures they have in common with Judaism.

To Christians, Jesus Christ is a teacher, the model of a pious life, the revealer of God, the
mediator of salvation and the saviour who suffered,
died and was resurrected in order to bring about salvation from sin for all.

Christians maintain that Jesus ascended into heaven and most
denominations teach that Jesus will judge the living and the dead, granting everlasting life
to his followers. The "good news" of Jesus' ministry is called the Gospel.
The Trinity is often regarded as an essential doctrine of mainstream
Christianity. The most common understanding of the Holy Trinity, as espoused in the Nicene Creed, is one God who
exists in three Persons - Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit -
who are coequal, co-eternal, of the same substance.
God. God is believed to be infinite and God's presence may be perceived through the actions of Jesus and the Holy
Spirit.

The disciples were first called Christians (Greek), meaning "followers of Christ",
in Antioch. Ignatius of Antioch was the first Christian to use the
label in self-reference. Like Judaism and Islam, Christianity
is classified as an Abrahamic religion (see also Judeo-Christian).
Through missionary work and colonisation, Christianity spread
firstly in the Middle East, North Africa, Europe and parts of India and subsequently throughout the entire world.

Saturn’s presence in my eighth house will improve my ability to
handle other people’s money, whether in the form of inheritances,
insurance, or employment. Meanwhile Mars sitting in my 12th house will result in surges
of creativity while I am alone. Even more excitingly, Uranus,
governor of Publishing and Communications, will move into Taurus,
known for hard work and dedication, for the first time in 85 years.

With this realignment comes creative inspiration, of course.

I have the next seven to dedicate to a project that will turn into something great, with the eventual support of Saturn and
Pluto (yes, also a planet, haters). What’s the purpose of all this,
you may be asking?

At this point in my research, I had realized that one thing was completely certain: There are so many aspects of astrology that practically any horoscope will in some way apply to you.
The similarities to Christianity are so obvious that
it surprises me that I hadn’t noticed them before.

While Christians do not receive a daily prescription, their relationship to God is intensely personal and
unique and therefore cannot be generalized to apply to a population. Religious devotion can lead down any number of paths in your career and relationships, much in the
same way strict adherence to a Horoscope would.

So I apologize, Astrology: you’re not a distraction — you’re a
religion. 200 an hour. And the other thing? It’s a lot of fun. Will I
plan my life according to the suggestions of my Natal
Chart going forward? Probably not. But will I spend more of the coming week reading about
Astrology or informal contracts regarding the ownership of cattle grazing fields in the American southwest?
I suppose I will have to let Mercury decide.

Are you are a political prattler? Most people discuss
politics in ineffective, counterproductive and illogical ways.

Here’s a quick test to find out if you’re a political prattler.

You’re at a party, and someone makes a stupid political
comment. Call them an idiot and blame them for all the evils in the world?
Nod blankly, feign agreement and inwardly fall into despair about the futility of attempting sane political dialogue?
Fire back a sarcastic, clever comeback that they never saw coming?

If any of these approaches sound familiar to you, you probably haven’t changed many of people’s
minds about politics. You wouldn’t do this…would
you?

Evaluate the appropriateness of a political argument by
asking yourself if you would use the same type of argument in a
sales setting. You’re at the same party. You sell factory-built homes.
Someone who’s considering building makes an inaccurate,
hostile and/or stupid comment about factory-built
homes. Call them an idiot and blame them for your low
sales totals? Nod blankly, feign agreement and inwardly fall into despair
about the futility of making your sales quotas?

Fire back a sarcastic, clever comeback that they never saw coming?
If you would, you probably aren’t effective in sales. Most people wouldn’t try
to sell a product by attacking, shutting down or side-swiping.
Yet most people choose one of these three approaches
when the topic gets political. In my Unite and Concur eBook and
my Unite and Concur blog I advocate avoiding
the following three approaches to political discussions.

While a quick attack may intimidate your political opposite and stun them into silence, aggressive arguments come at a price.
"For every action there is an equal opposite reaction." People
usually find a way to "even the score" if
they feel bullied. Aggressives miss an opportunity to learn from and about them.
Sure, if you stay silent, you will avoid stepping
on a landmine; passiveness also comes at a price. The person spreading misinformation takes your silence as
agreement. Your silence makes you complicit. Your unvoiced objection might
build and erupt into aggression. Passive-aggressive behavior is still
aggression. It has the same effect as aggression.

Did I just take away
your entire communication repertoire? If I did, here’s a
new one. Most people assume that if you’re not speaking aggressively, you’re being passive.

Most people are wrong. Here are some of political communication tips.
Say what you mean, and mean what you say, without being mean when you say it.
The key to effective political communication is respect. Respect them, respect yourself and respect the facts.
Sure, it would be tempting to roll your eyes and
call them an idiot. And it would be easier to roll your eyes
inwardly. It works much better to Unite and Concur.

At first glance, it may seem that age discrimination is simple to prove.
However, there are specific rules under which age discrimination may apply.
First, an employer must have more than twenty (20) employees,
and these employees must work a minimum of at least twenty weeks out
of a single year. Independent contractors are not included
in this equation since they are not considered employees.
For anyone who is applying for a job and asking "Can I be asked my age at a job interview?," the simple answer is yes,
though the end answer may be more complicated. If a company has less than twenty employees, the answer is yes,
if the company intends to make a decision on hiring someone based on age, the answer is not as simple.

While an employer may elect to hire someone over the
age of 40 versus under the age of 40, the person under the age of 40 is not protected under the laws against age discrimination.
It is also important to note that some states
have even more stringent laws regarding age discrimination.
While proving age discrimination may not be easy, if an applicant over the age of 40
is asked their age during an interview and subsequently not hired, they may want
to contact an attorney who specializes in employment law.
The attorney should be able to ascertain if it is legally advisable
to pursue a discriminatory employment suit.

Western forces are trying to use Christianity to influence
China's society and even "subvert" the government, a senior official said, warning that Chinese Christians needed to follow a Chinese model of the religion. China's constitution guarantees religious freedom, but since President Xi Jinping took
office six years ago, the government has
tightened restrictions on religions seen as a challenge to the authority of the ruling Communist Party.

The government has cracked down on underground churches, both Protestant and Catholic, even as it seeks to improve relations with the Vatican. Xu said, according to remarks reported on Tuesday by the United Front Work Department, which
is in charge of co-opting non-communists, ethnic minorities and religious
groups. Only by eliminating the "stigma of foreign religion"
in China's Christianity can its believers benefit society, he added.
China has been following a policy it calls the "Sinicisation" of
religion, trying to root out foreign influences and enforce obedience to the Communist Party.
Restrictions on religion have attracted particular concern in the United States.
Last week, during a visit to Hong Kong, the
U.S.

Valignano’s successors continued his legacy of inculturation. Matteo
Ricci, who settled in China in 1583, not only adopted Chinese
practices but even lived as a Confucian scholar.

He translated many Chinese classical works and wrote many treatises
attempting to bridge Chinese Confucianism with Western Christianity (2).
These methods of inculturation were very
successful within China, but they were somewhat
controversial within Western Europe. During the mid-17th century, the Catholic
Church wavered in its position toward Jesuit methods of inculturation in China.
This is largely because Papal leadership in Rome struggled to understand precisely what degree religion factored into the Chinese cultural practices encountered by the Jesuits.

Initially, the Church appears to be primarily concerned that the Chinese do not compromise
their Christian witness by engaging in Pagan religious practices.
In 1645, the Church first made an official decree concerning Chinese Rites.
The Church at Rome compelled all missionaries to abide by this decision. However, it would soon drastically change its stance on the Rites issue.

In 1656, the Jesuit Martino Martini submitted
a letter to Pope Alexander VII arguing that these Chinese traditions were
not religious ceremonies but merely civic duties that all Chinese were
expected to perform. However, in 1704, the Church again reversed
its decision, this time taking a stance opposed to the
Jesuits (8). The Church’s new position created a sort of power struggle between the Pope and the Emperor.

Why Did the Church Rule Against Inculturation? As Dana Robert indicates,
the Catholic Church’s strict stance against Jesuit inculturation in China was caused by
an amalgamation of factors, some of which were not even directly related Chinese Christianity it all.
While Jesuit missionaries were struggling to adapt Christianity to an Eastern cultural context, the
Protestant Reformation had fractured Europe, both religiously
and politically. What Should the Church Have Done?
Had the Catholic Church’s interest in the Rites Controversy truly been limited to preserving the purity of the
Christianity, it would have recognized its own inability to fully comprehend Chinese culture.

Congratulations, you have figured out that you have what it
takes to become an entrepreneur and you have
done your homework and prepared a well-developed business plan. Leading
economists are praising you as the "the backbone of the economy" who will
lead the jobs recovery with a wave of new hirings.
So what else do you need to consider in pursuit of
your entrepreneurial dream? Taking into account the current political climate is a good place to start to
determine whether governmental policies coming through the pipeline will
be supportive or end up breaking the newly-hailed backbone of the entrepreneur.
Because many entrepreneurs run small businesses, political decisions usually have a greater percentage impact on the company’s bottom line.

For example, the Presidential Council of Economic Advisors reported in 2009 that small businesses pay up to
18 percent more per worker than larger firms for the same insurance policy.
Without policies directed to correct this disparity, any increase in health care costs
will most likely be felt disportionately by small businesses.

For startup companies, the effect of cost drivers and regulatory requirements can be overwhelming as entrepreneurs try to also balance time demands of branding and building a
customer base with complying with financial and
regulatory requirements. Every entrepreneur faces challenges that can affect their future success in growing
their business. The National Federation of Independent Businesses has identified the most common concerns as reported
on its monthly survey of the economic trends for small
businesses. Inflation - primarily controlled by the interest rate policies set by the Federal Reserve.

Poor sales - generally attributable to economic conditions which can be
the focus of governmental stimulus. Interest rates - a product of the monetary policies of the Federal Reserve.
Cost of labor - increased through mandates and legal requirements
for employee benefits. Government regulation and red tape - touches
many areas of operating a small business, including licensure, certification, and
permitting processes. Competition from large businesses - alleviated in part by government programs directed to help small businesses gain traction and compete more effectively,
including rewarding a certain percentage of government contracts to companies that
qualify as small businesses. Cost and availability of insurance - directly related to the integral role politics plays in determining insurance coverage,
benefits, and limits in such areas as health care,
workers compensation, unemployment insurance, and in a few states, disability
insurance.

The effects of politics on entrepreneurship can be either a
ray of sunshine or a dark cloud hanging over the prospects of the ultimate success of the entrepreneur’s venture.
Political stances on taxes, regulatory reform, immigration, intellectual property rights, and funding
for social and educational programs weigh heavily
on the decisions of entrepreneurs to hire employees, expand capital spending, increase
inventories, and apply for credit. Entrepreneurs need to stay on top of the political agendas aimed to boost entrepreneurship through investment tax credits,
capital expenditure deductions, and incentives to promote lending to small businesses.
For example, the recent 2010 proposal to give businesses a short-term one
year 100 percent capital expense deduction is great for small businesses ready to
reinvest in their business. The hope is that business reinvestment
will stimulate the economy, reduce cyclical unemployment, and eventually bring back strong
consumer demand. Dark clouds from politics can sweep
in at any time and have bad or unintended consequences.
Sometimes even good intended policies fall short of their objectives.

Age discrimination is an unfortunate component of
our working society. When pertaining to the workplace, age discrimination is best defined as not
giving a person a job or a promotion based solely on the person’s age.
The person’s skills and level of competency will not be measured
in the decision to hire or promote, just their age. There
are several different types of age discrimination that all working people should
be aware of. When a person is not hired solely due to their age it is referred to as new hire-based age discrimination. People of all ages may
have the qualifications and experience necessary to do the job in which a company is hiring for.

However, some companies will want a candidate of a specific age.

Some companies will only hire younger people because they feel they will stay longer
and will be easier to train. Some companies will only hire older people because they feel their age automatically makes them more competent and reliable.
Both are illegal, but often difficult to prove at the same time.
This type of age discrimination is when a person is denied a promotion due to their age.
When a company announces that a new position is available, employees of all ages and
experience levels will often apply. However, if the employer already has a set age in his or her mind, experience and qualifications will mean very little.

This is a little
easier to prove than new-hire based age discrimination because those who were not chosen will often know the employee who was
and will know if they were truly more qualified.
This type of age discrimination revolves around being paid less solely due to the person’s age.

Reasonably, a person who has more education and experience will make more money than someone with limited education and experience, but this isn’t always the
case when salary-based discrimination is involved.
This type of age discrimination is also referred to as indirect discrimination. This type of
discrimination occurs when an employer develops a strategy to categorize people
of a certain age group that places them at a disadvantage when they are compared
to another group of aspiring or current employees.

A common example is an employer making up false skills in order to intentionally disqualify someone from getting a job or a promotion. The
Federal Express Corporation committed this form of age discrimination. This company has a time-frame in which packages have to be delivered in order
to keep things running efficiently, but there was a deadline.
However, they did an assessment and created a time-frame that older employees would find particularly challenging, resulting in the younger employees speed being difficult
to match. This is often hard to prove unless the employees who were targeted can find sufficient evidence to back up their suspicions.

As a psychologist, I’m often asked what is the psychopathology of individuals
in abusive relationships? The perpetrator’s mental health status is usually more self-evident, whereas the
victims’ mental health status is clouded with the psychosocial politics
of domestic violence combat. The perpetrator usually presents with any
combination of the following personality disorders:
narcissistic personality disorder, antisocial personality disorder and
borderline personality disorder, along with intermittent explosive disorder.
Pathology in a victim, on the other hand, is less clear, less accurate and more often than not, merely a diagnostic label given as part of domestic violence combat.
Often the diagnosis received by these women is nothing
more than a psychological sword delivered at the bequest of—and
manipulation by—their batterers.

It is estimated that 95% of all women going through the domestic violence shelter system
will be given a psychiatric diagnosis by the evaluating mental healthcare provider before they
get out—that is, during their navigation through domestic violence
victim assistance. And the diagnoses given are often a gross misrepresentation of many of these women’s mental health.

We see everything from substance-related disorders to anxiety disorders to mood disorders to severe personality disorders.
Giving these women fraudulent psychiatric labels has
serious consequences for the long-term health of these individuals.
Once improperly diagnosed, they shy away from mental health care
and cut themselves off from resources that could very well benefit their healing after the abusive relationship.
